CONTOUR Issue 2 OPEN SUBMISSIONS

Contour Issue 2 Preview

Do you want something to do over Christmas? Want to write in the New Year? Submit your work via email for the next issue.

Following the success of Issue 1 submissions are now open for Contour once again.

The theme is LOVE – but do not be put off by this, I am searching for more than love poetry. Here are some ideas.

Love of each other – Romantic love

Unconditional love is, in essence, true love. Unconditional love is caring about the happiness of another person without any thought for what we might get for ourselves.

Bibliophilia

Love of place – Topophilia is a strong sense of place, which often becomes mixed with the sense of cultural identity among certain people and a love of certain aspects of such a place.

Love of Nature – one of the better known theories, the biophilia hypothesis, suggests that we love nature because we evolved in it. We need it for our psychological well-being because it’s in our DNA.

Love of food – calling all gastronomes and epicures. Foodies people who has an ardent or refined interest in food and alcoholic beverages. who enjoy food for pleasure.

Mutual love & fellowship

…the list could go on.

Simply because there is not enough time…

I do not send acknowledgements for the receipt of your submission.

My role is to promote poetry so…

I do not send rejection emails. If you have not heard by the 7th February your poetry has not been successful this time. Your poetry – not YOU – rejection is not personal, despite it feeling this way.

No correspondence will be entered into regarding the decisions and publication.

There is always hope…

You will have every chance of publication in future WPL projects so I hope you will consider submitting in the future.
